YUSAI Series “DIVIDO ∞: Falling Stars and Mirage” Leather model (Black) [VM14-CBKTTP-SSD]

Black leather is the quietest possible frame for a painting. This MINASE DIVIDO wears the YUSAI dial artwork “∞: Falling Stars and Mirage” on a black strap, which lets the case and the dial carry the whole conversation.

YUSAI is MINASE's series of hand-painted dials by the artist Towa TAKAYA, born in Tokyo in 1992, trained at Central Saint Martins and Goldsmiths, and known for building her own paints from soil, plants and cosmetic ingredients collected where she works. The series name pairs the eternal flow of time with the fluctuation of color, and each dial is painted by her hand rather than reproduced.

Her statement for this piece describes mother-of-pearl lustre and layered gradations of pigment arranged so that the hues change with the viewer's position, reading at times as a nebula and at others as a snowy landscape. The DIVIDO case supports that shifting: stainless steel, 40.6 mm square, 11 mm thick with its sapphire, with four lugs standing above the case in a partition structure and glimpses of the movement at the edges. The self-winding KT7002, built on a Swiss ETA 2892-A2 / Sellita SW300 base and finished by MINASE, carries the date. Rated 5 atm.

On leather it wears lighter and reads more like a small painting than a piece of hardware.
