Where the mountain cherry scatters, the Yoshino cherry marches. MINASE describes the blossoms on its Urushi Series maki-e dial “SEVEN WINDOWS ~Yoshino-Sakura” as an orderly procession of music troupes, drawn evenly across the field rather than strewn across it.

That evenness is harder than it sounds, because maki-e gives no second chances: the pattern is painted in wet lacquer and dusted with metal powder before it dries, then re-lacquered and polished back over months of layering. This dial uses more than five kinds of processed gold, silver and colored metals, so the procession shifts in tone as it crosses the lacquer. MINASE's JAPAN ART COLLECTION exists for exactly this sort of work, all of it done by hand by a master urushi artisan.

Around it, the SEVEN WINDOWS case: a six-faceted square in stainless steel with the crown split in two on its flank, giving seven glass windows in total, every surface hand-polished by MINASE to a mirror that holds its edges. It measures 37.4 mm wide, 46.5 mm tall and 13 mm thick with the sapphire, weighs about 89 g on its black leather strap, and runs the self-winding KT7002 on a Swiss ETA 2892-A2 / Sellita SW300 base, with a date. 5 atm.
