Uruga 42 Bracelet Model [UG03-M01NWH-SSB]

A white dial behind a slightly curved sapphire crystal changes with the angle you hold it at, brightening at one tilt and shading at the next. The URUGA 42 is built to make that happen.

MINASE gives the crystal a gentle vertical curvature and holds it down with the collection's clamping structure: four voluminously cut clasps, elaborately faceted, gripping case and glass together as prongs grip a stone in a jewelry setting. The dial beneath carries a horizontal gradation inspired by the glittering waters of the Minase River in Akita, and the indices are cut on the oblique, shaped after the front of a kimono, so that they produce wavering rather than flat light.

On the steel bracelet, the white dial gives the URUGA 42 its brightest and most formal face, all polished planes and pale ground. The case is 42.0 mm wide, 48.0 mm long including the lugs and 10.2 mm thick with the crystal, hand-polished throughout. The movement is the self-winding MINASE calibre KT7002, a Swiss ETA 2892 and Sellita SW300 base finished and decorated in Akita, with a date.

Rated to 5 atm, it is made for rain and splashes rather than swimming. Like every MINASE watch, it is essentially built to order and assembled by hand.
