Uruga 42 Bracelet Model [UG03-M01NBL-SSB]
Blue dial, steel bracelet, and a case whose bezel comes apart into four faceted clasps: the URUGA 42 takes a familiar formula and rebuilds the part most watches leave alone.
That is the clamping structure, and it is what separates URUGA from the rest of the MINASE catalog. Four voluminously cut clasps hold the case and the sapphire crystal together, a construction the brand explains by pointing at jewelry, where prongs secure a stone without concealing it. MINASE describes the line's character as mature elegance born of dazzling contrast, and the contrast in question is between the sharp cut edges of those clasps and the smooth curvature of the crystal, which carries a slight vertical curve.
The blue dial shows the horizontal gradation the collection takes from the Minase River, deepening across the face rather than radiating from the center. On the steel bracelet it becomes the most substantial version of the watch: a 42.0 mm case, 48.0 mm long including the lugs, 10.2 mm thick with the glass, all of it hand-polished. The self-winding KT7002 inside is a Swiss ETA 2892 and Sellita SW300 base finished by MINASE, with a date.
Water resistance is 5 atm, so rain and spray rather than swimming. A blue dial on steel is the configuration most people reach for first, and here it is anything but ordinary.
Perfect for: blue dial steel bracelet watches, buyers of Japanese automatic watches, collectors interested in unusual case construction.
