URUGA 31 Rubber Model "Stone-clamped (Diamond)" [UG02-RWHNIB-SSDD]

Diamonds and a white rubber strap should not work together. On the URUGA 31 they do, because the case was designed by people thinking about settings in the first place.

MINASE holds the case and the crystal with four elaborately faceted clasps arranged like the prongs of a gemstone mount, which is where the Stone-clamped name comes from and why the diamond version reads as a continuation rather than an addition. The sapphire between the clasps carries a slight vertical curvature, and the whole watch is a study in sharp cuts meeting smooth curves.

The ice blue dial is patterned with the horizontal gradation MINASE takes from the Minase River in Akita, its indices cut obliquely after the front of a kimono so that the light they return keeps shifting. White rubber turns all of that into something you can wear in the sun without ceremony.

The case is 31 mm wide, 39 mm long and 9.9 mm thick. Inside, the self-winding KT8001 with date, built on a Swiss ETA 2671 and Sellita SW100 base and finished by MINASE. Rated 5 atm, so rain and splashes rather than swimming.
