MINASE polishes by hand using Sallaz, a technique of Swiss origin the brand revived in Akita, holding each part against a rotating plate charged with fine diamond dust and judging the pressure by fingertip. The point is a mirror with no distortion in it and edges that stay sharp, and on a warm metal finish that flatness is what stops the case from looking soft.

The bezel is split into four voluminously cut clasps that clamp case and crystal together like prongs around a gemstone, and the dial beneath carries the collection's horizontal gradation, drawn from the surface of the Minase River, with obliquely cut indices inspired by the front of a kimono.

The case is 31 mm wide, 39 mm long and 9.9 mm thick, on a matching plated bracelet. The self-winding KT8001 with date is a Swiss ETA 2671 and Sellita SW100 base finished by MINASE. Water resistance is 5 atm.
