Teutonia Sport II — Black and Red Dial / Black Calf Leather
Not every motorsport watch needs a chronograph. The Teutonia Sport II makes its case with three hands, a small seconds dial and one very clever date window.
Instead of a single square aperture, the date is stretched into a semi-circular opening showing yesterday, today and tomorrow at once, sitting at 3 o'clock and balancing the small seconds at 9. Mühle-Glashütte does not offer the Sport II as a successor to the Sport I; the two are concurrent and deliberately different watches, one a chronograph, this one a time-and-date.
The black dial carries red accents, applied indices and Super-LumiNova on markers and hands. Steel case, 41.6 mm across, 12.8 mm high, 51.4 mm lug to lug, with screwed strap-attachment bridges holding black calfskin stitched in red on a steel pin buckle. The SW 290-1, Version Mühle automatic runs 41 hours and carries both the patented woodpecker neck fine regulation and Mühle's own rotor, riveted and running on a low-friction ball bearing, visible through the exhibition caseback. Anti-reflective sapphire, 10 bar.
Racing colors and a genuinely useful date, in a case that stays under 13 mm.
Perfect for: three-hand motorsport watches, unusual date aperture buyers, black and red dial automatic shoppers.
