TACHYMETER 2.0 black silver / Modena 20 brown
Brown leather and a black chronograph dial is a period-correct pairing. Driving gloves came in this color long before watch straps did, and the Sternglas TACHYMETER 2.0 wears the reference well.
The TACHYMETER 2.0 is the sportiest thing the Hamburg brand makes and the deliberate opposite of its reduced Bauhaus-inspired dials. Its scale reads average speed off elapsed time across a known distance. The sector-style dial runs tri-compax, placing a 24-hour register at three, running seconds and the date at six, and a 60-minute counter at nine, while the caseback is engraved with a rally motif.
The case measures 44 mm in polished and brushed 316L stainless steel with an aluminum bezel insert, water resistant to 10 bar, or 100 meters, under a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The movement is a Seiko/TMI VK63 meca-quartz, which pairs quartz accuracy with a mechanically driven chronograph module for a sweeping hand and an immediate reset. The strap is brown Modena leather, 20 mm.
Warmer than the black leather version and better suited to denim, tan boots and autumn light.
Perfect for: brown leather strap chronographs, retro motorsport watch styling, black dial and brown leather combinations.
