SEVEN WINDOWS Bracelet Model [VM15-M01NBK-SSB]
A black dial gives light nothing to bounce off, which is precisely why this SEVEN WINDOWS is the best study of what the case is doing.
MINASE builds the outer case as a six-faceted square and splits the crown into two on the flank, so there are seven sapphire panels in total. What enters through them lands on a finely textured three-dimensional dial, and against black the shading is read as movement rather than color. The brand's own line is that the brilliance shifts and flows with the change of angle and the passage of time.
Inside sits the case-in-case structure: an inner case for the movement, the dial, and an index ring carrying markers that appear to float above it. The outer profile is drawn to a sharp ridge along its length, a contour MINASE compares to the edge of a Japanese sword and one that only survives because the polishing is done by hand on a flat plate.
Steel, 37.4 by 46.5 mm, 13 mm thick with the crystal, about 160 grams on the MORE bracelet. Self-winding KT7002 with date, built on a Swiss base and finished in Akita. Rated 5 atm.
Perfect for: black dial steel bracelet watches, admirers of angular case design, Japanese luxury watch collectors.
