Seebataillon GMT — Blue Dial / Black Rubber
The rotor carries a naval unit's coat of arms. The caseback is engraved with the coordinates of its headquarters. Neither detail on the Seebataillon GMT was invented by a marketing department.
Mühle-Glashütte presented the Seebataillon GMT in 2013 after developing it from 2012 in coordination with the command staff of the German Navy's Seebataillon, who had come to the brand through its S.A.R. Flieger-Chronograph. It is worth being clear about what that does and does not mean: the watch is not part of the unit's official equipment, and the Navy has said so on the record. Soldiers buy it privately, as a mark of belonging. The collaboration itself is entirely real, and the GMT function exists because the unit deploys abroad.
The case is titanium, 45.0 mm across and 12.7 mm tall, with a bidirectional rotating bezel over an aluminum inlay and a 22 mm black rubber strap on a titanium folding clasp. The blue dial doubles up its indices and splits the marker at 12 into two halves, maximizing the area available for Super-LumiNova. The SW 330-2, Version Mühle automatic runs 56 hours and drives a caller GMT: the 24-hour hand is set independently for a second time zone while the local hour hand stays put. Date at 4 o'clock, 30 bar, exhibition caseback.
Titanium keeps a 45 mm watch at 76 grams before the strap.
Perfect for: titanium GMT watch buyers, second time zone travelers, naval heritage watch collectors.
