Seebataillon GMT — Blue Dial / Blue Rubber
Blue on blue: the deep blue dial finds its match in a blue rubber strap, added to the Seebataillon GMT in 2023 alongside a titanium folding clasp for the model's tenth year.
Mühle-Glashütte developed this watch from 2012 in coordination with the command staff of the German Navy's Seebataillon and presented it in 2013. It is not issue equipment and was never claimed to be; soldiers of the unit buy it privately. What the collaboration produced is a legible, light, genuinely traveled watch. The rotor is decorated with the battalion's coat of arms, visible through the exhibition caseback, and the caseback ring is engraved with the coordinates of the unit's headquarters.
The 45.0 mm case is titanium, 12.7 mm tall with a 53.4 mm lug-to-lug, topped by a bidirectional rotating bezel with an aluminum inlay. Look closely at the dial and you will see doubled hour indices and a split triangle at 12, both there to carry more Super-LumiNova. Inside is the SW 330-2, Version Mühle automatic with 56 hours of reserve, running a caller GMT: an independently adjustable 24-hour hand for a second zone, with the local hour hand unaffected. Date at 4 o'clock, 30 bar, 22 mm strap.
At 76 grams without the strap, it wears with far less mass than its diameter implies.
Perfect for: blue dial GMT buyers, lightweight titanium sports watches, dual time zone automatic watches.
