Luxury follows function is Mühle's own line, and few watches make the case as plainly as this S.A.R. Rescue-Timer LUMEN: an entirely matte watch whose only decorative gesture is that the dial happens to glow.

Mühle-Glashütte states its own rate tolerance out loud, 0 to a maximum of +8 seconds a day, deliberately set slightly fast. The same candor runs through the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer, built with the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service and used by its crews as a timer during night operations. The LUMEN exists for exactly that shift. Its dial is completely covered in Super-LumiNova over a cream background, with black-coated skeletonized hands that read as silhouettes once the glow takes over.

This is the plainest configuration of the five: the 42.0 mm matte stainless steel case on a matte silver steel bracelet with a folding clasp, no rubber inserts, no contrast. Soft black rubber bezel, 4 mm double anti-reflective sapphire, date at 4 o'clock under a magnifier, solid caseback. The automatic SW 200-1, Version Mühle runs 41 hours with woodpecker neck fine regulation and stop-seconds. 100 bar.
