The NAOS SOLAR takes the flagship Sternglas design and puts a solar panel beneath the dial. The Epson AS32 solar quartz movement converts both daylight and artificial light into stored energy, running up to four months on a full charge even in complete darkness, and holding accuracy to within about twenty seconds a month. When the second hand starts moving in two-second steps, roughly ten minutes in bright light restores it. Sternglas has designed in Hamburg since 2016, and this is its most self-sufficient watch.

The dark green dial is deepened by a gold-toned PVD case, a warmer pairing than the usual steel Naos, in a 38 mm case with 20 mm lugs, a domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating, a date, and 5 bar water resistance. The black Bridle leather strap keeps the gold from tipping into showiness.

For a wearer who likes the convenience of quartz and dislikes the ritual of battery changes.
