Thirty years is long enough for a flagship line to have proved its point. This FROGMAN marks the anniversary by going somewhere cold.
MR-G began in 1996 as the G-SHOCK flagship, and it has been built at Yamagata Casio on the Premium Production Line ever since, one technician to a watch. This anniversary model takes its palette from polar sea ice, where the blue sits under the surface rather than on it.
The case measures 56 by 49.7 mm and 18.6 mm deep, in titanium with COBARION on the bezel, a cobalt-chrome alloy roughly four times harder than pure titanium. The bezel is facet-cut so the light fractures across it, finished with a titanium carbide coating and blue arc ion plating. ISO 200 meter water resistance, the diving standard rather than a general figure. Sapphire crystal, Tough Solar, Multi Band 6, Bluetooth dive logging, and a Dura Soft fluoro-rubber band with a second band supplied alongside it.
The most elaborate case in the current MR-G range and the most striking in daylight. For a collector who wants the anniversary piece and intends to wear it anyway.
