LUMATIK light blue silver / Bridle 20 black

Most watches treat luminous material as an afterthought. The Sternglas LUMATIK was designed backwards from it.

Sternglas built this line after its own community asked for a watch that stays readable in the dark. The answer was dual-tone Luminova, white and orange, applied so the hands and the indices remain distinguishable from one another at night rather than merging into a single glow. The design took a German Design Award in 2025.

The light blue dial here is marked by silver-tone hands and a date at six o'clock, in a 38 mm stainless steel case spanning 43 mm from lug to lug. Inside is the Miyota 8315 automatic, hand-windable and hacking, with a 60-hour power reserve. A screwed glass caseback shows the blued screws, the striped bridge decoration and the skeletonized rotor. Double-domed sapphire with double anti-reflective coating covers the dial, and the case is rated to 5 bar. The strap is black Bridle leather, 20 mm at the lugs.

Black leather makes the pale blue dial the only color on the wrist, which is precisely how the LUMATIK wants to be read.
