HORIZON Mid Rubber Model [VM06-R02PD-RBK]

A compact case, a black rubber strap, and a movement you can watch working through the back. The MINASE HORIZON Mid on rubber is the version built for the days when the watch simply has to keep up.

HORIZON Mid joined the collection in 2017 as a smaller interpretation of the HORIZON, and it inherits the architecture intact. Case-in-case construction sets the movement in its own inner case behind a curved dial and an index ring, with a second case enclosing all of it, and the hand fulcrums sit higher than the four corners of the case so the hands appear to travel above the structure. Every exposed surface goes through Sallaz hand-polishing, worked against a rotating plate until the planes are flat enough to reflect without distortion.

On this reference the strap is black rubber. The case measures 36.8 mm wide, 45.6 mm long including the lugs and 12.0 mm thick, and the complete watch weighs about 79 grams, light enough to forget. The crystal is sapphire with a non-reflective coating, with a sapphire display back showing the self-winding MINASE calibre KT8001, a Swiss ETA 2671 and Sellita SW100 base with a date.

Despite the strap, water resistance is 5 atm: rain and splashes, not swimming. It is the most relaxed way to wear a watch this carefully finished.
