HORIZON Mid Bracelet Model [VM06-M02SB]

Turn the HORIZON Mid over and MINASE gives you the other half of the watch. A sapphire display back opens onto the calibre KT8001, and the view explains why the case had to be built the way it is.

MINASE is made in Ugo-machi, in Akita prefecture, by a company whose original trade was precision cutting tools, and its watches are described by the brand as made entirely of hand-crafted components and basically built to order. The HORIZON Mid, launched in 2017, applies that to a compact case-in-case build: an inner case for the movement, a curved dial, an index ring above it, and an outer case closed around the lot, with the hand fulcrums sitting higher than the four corners of the case.

This bracelet reference measures 36.8 mm wide, 45.6 mm long including the lugs and 12.0 mm thick, and weighs roughly 120.5 grams complete. The front crystal is sapphire with a non-reflective coating, so the dial stays legible under office lighting where a domed crystal would normally throw glare. The movement is the self-winding MINASE KT8001, built on a Swiss ETA 2671 and Sellita SW100 base and finished by MINASE, with a date.

The 5 atm rating covers rain and hand-washing, not swimming. Bracelet and case are both MORE structure, meaning they can be dismantled and refinished for as long as the watch is worn.
