HORIZON Mid Bracelet Model Stone-clamped (Diamond) [VM06-M01SBDD]

Diamonds on a MINASE are handled the way the brand handles everything else: clamped in place, counted, and kept subordinate to the case. This is the Stone-clamped HORIZON Mid, set with approximately 0.2 carats.

HORIZON Mid arrived in 2017 as a reduced version of the HORIZON, carrying the same design language into a smaller case. The construction is case-in-case, with the movement in its own inner case behind a curved dial and an index ring, all enclosed by a second case whose surfaces alternate hairline satin and Sallaz-polished mirror. The polishing is done by hand against a rotating plate so the mirrored planes stay flat and the edges between them stay sharp, which is what keeps a small case from looking soft.

This reference comes on the steel bracelet built to MINASE's MORE structure, so case and bracelet alike can be disassembled and refinished later. The case measures 36.8 mm wide, 45.6 mm long including the lugs and 12.0 mm thick, and the diamond version weighs about 121.5 grams. Inside is the self-winding MINASE calibre KT8001, a Swiss ETA 2671 and Sellita SW100 base, with a date, viewed through a sapphire display back; the front crystal is sapphire with a non-reflective coating.

Rated 5 atm, it is happy in rain and unhappy in a pool. On a smaller wrist it reads as jewelry that also keeps time properly.
