HAMBURG dark blue gold / suede 20 brown

Suede changes the temperature of a watch. Against the dark blue dial and gold-tone case of the Sternglas HAMBURG, a brown suede strap softens the whole thing and moves it firmly into autumn.

Sternglas named the HAMBURG collection after its home city and modeled the dial on the measuring instruments of seafaring. That means clear Arabic numerals, a fine outer minute scale and Luminova on the hands and markers, plus a screwed caseback engraved with the city, from the Alster to the Landungsbrücken.

Inside is the Swiss Ronda 715 quartz movement, which hacks its seconds hand for precise setting, shows the date and runs around 60 months on one battery. The case is 316L stainless steel in a gold tone, 42 mm across, with a dark blue dial beneath double-domed sapphire and double anti-reflective coating. Water resistance is 5 bar. The suede strap is brown and 20 mm at the lugs.

Suede asks to be kept out of the rain, and rewards you with a texture no polished leather can imitate.
