HAMBURG Automatic Edition Marine dark blue gold / SuperSlim 20 gold

SuperSlim is a bracelet, not a strap, and at 2.2 mm thick it is the thinnest thing Sternglas will attach to the HAMBURG Automatik Edition Marine. On a 42 mm watch, that matters more than it sounds.

The HAMBURG collection is Sternglas's salute to the city where it was founded in 2016, and its dials are drawn from maritime measuring instruments: strong Arabic numerals, a fine minute scale at the perimeter, Luminova on hands and indices. What sets the Edition Marine apart is the caseback, engraved with a windjammer in full sail.

This version pairs the dark blue satin dial and gold-toned 42 mm case with the SuperSlim bracelet in gold, a slim 316L steel design closed by a brushed 316L clasp. Underneath runs a Miyota 8215 automatic, 42 hours of power reserve, hacking seconds, hand-winding, with a date on the dial. Double-domed sapphire with double anti-reflective coating protects the front, and the watch is rated to 5 bar.

A thin bracelet lets a large automatic slide under a shirt cuff instead of fighting it. That is the whole argument for this configuration.
