G-SHOCK GM-B2100D-1A - Full Metal Octagon
Casio built the full metal square in 2018 and spent four years being asked when the octagon would follow.
The GM-B2100 is that watch: the G-SHOCK 2100 Series shape rebuilt entirely in stainless steel, case, bezel and bracelet, with the shock structure re-engineered around the metal. It is the reference the whole Full Metal octagon line descends from, and the first one to exist.
Black dial under a bare steel bezel, on a solid steel bracelet with a one-touch three-fold clasp and a screw-lock back, in a case 49.8 by 44.4 mm and 12.8 mm deep at 165 grams. Two hands over a small LCD with Neobrite on the markers. Module 5691 is Tough Solar powered and pairs to the CASIO WATCHES app over Bluetooth, with world time, a stopwatch, a countdown timer and alarms. 200 m water resistant.
The one people had been waiting for. Denser and better finished than anything else wearing the octagon.
