The 2100 was designed to be light. The GM-2110D doubles its weight on purpose and turns it into a different kind of object.
This is G-SHOCK's 2100 Series with a steel bezel and, unusually for the metal-clad models, a solid stainless steel bracelet with a one-touch three-fold clasp. The case beneath stays resin, so the shock structure is unchanged, but at 146 grams the watch sits and moves like a metal sports watch rather than a resin one.
Grey face against a silver bezel and bracelet, 49.3 by 44.4 mm and 11.8 mm deep. Two hands run over the digital display with a hand shift feature that clears them, Neobrite on the markers, and a double LED for the face and the LCD. Module 5611 holds 31 time zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer and five daily alarms, three years to a battery, fifteen seconds a month. 200 m water resistant.
The closest the standard 2100 gets to the Full Metal line, without the price of going all the way.
