G-SHOCK GM-110-1A - Metal-Clad Analog-Digital
A steel bezel over a resin case is the oldest trick in G-SHOCK's metal playbook, and the GM-110 applies it to the round analog-digital shape rather than to a square.
It sits within the G-STEEL family, where a metal bezel is layered over an inner resin case so impact never reaches the module directly. The GM-110 adds magnetic resistance, which matters more on an analog watch with hands to be pulled out of position than on a purely digital one.
Black and silver across the face, black resin band, in a case 51.9 by 48.8 mm and 16.9 mm deep at 93 grams. Two hands run over a digital display with Neobrite on the markers. Module 5553 covers 31 time zones, a stopwatch, a countdown timer, alarms and a full auto-calendar, on a three-year pair of cells. 200 m water resistant.
Round, substantial and much less common than the square or the octagon. The steel does all the talking.
