The DW-5600 is the watch most people picture when they hear G-SHOCK, and it has stayed in production essentially unchanged because there has never been a good argument for changing it.
It is the core of the 5600 Series, the line that traces directly back to the DW-5000C of 1983: the same square outline, the same suspended module, the same four buttons. Casio's original brief was a watch that survived a fall, ran for years and took 10 bar. This one takes twenty.
Blacked out, with a multi-colour display that shifts against the dark face, in a resin case 48.9 by 42.8 mm and 13.4 mm deep at 53 grams. The LED backlight is a Super Illuminator with afterglow. Module 3525 runs a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, a multi-function alarm and a full auto-calendar, on a five-year battery. 200 m water resistant.
The reference square, in its quietest finish. Nothing here needs explaining.
