BERLIN Automatic sepia gold / Heritage 20 black
Put a black strap on a gold-cased watch and the gold stops looking casual. The BERLIN Automatik in sepia and gold takes that turn well.
Sternglas built the BERLIN around railway history: the 1846 line joining Hamburg and Berlin, and the Berliner Bahnhof terminus that worked it from 1857 to 1903, engraved on the caseback. The front of the watch stays true to the Hamburg studio's Bauhaus-inspired reduction, with sans-serif markers and no filler.
The sepia dial has a warm, faintly aged tone, framed by a gold-tone stainless steel case of 38 mm and gold hands. An automatic movement drives the hands and the date. The crystal is double-domed sapphire with anti-reflective treatment on both surfaces, and water resistance is 5 bar. Black Heritage leather, 20 mm wide and 4 mm thick with an alligator emboss, completes it.
This is the version to reach for when the dress code has been written down somewhere.
Perfect for: gold-tone dress watches, black leather formal watches, self-winding watches for evening wear.
