BERLIN Automatic midnight blue silver / Milanaise 20 silver

Steel mesh over a deep blue dial gives you two finishes at once: the fine matte grain of Milanese weave, and the depth of a midnight blue face beneath domed sapphire.

BERLIN is the Hamburg brand's railway line, not one of its maritime ones. It commemorates the 1846 Hamburg to Berlin connection, and the caseback reproduces the Berliner Bahnhof that served the route between 1857 and 1903. Sternglas has been designing in Hamburg since 2016, and the Bauhaus discipline shows in how little is printed on the dial.

The 38 mm case is stainless steel, the movement automatic with a date display, the crystal double-domed sapphire with coating on both sides, and the rating 5 bar. The silver Milanaise bracelet is 316L Milanese mesh, 2.5 mm thick and 20 mm at the lugs, with a sliding clasp that lets you set the length precisely rather than link by link.

It is the most versatile version of the blue BERLIN Automatik, and the one that needs no sizing appointment.
