29er Pointer Date — White Dial / Nautical Blue Canvas
There is no date window on this dial. Instead a slender hand runs from the center, taking a full 31 days to complete one revolution, its dark blue half-moon tip pointing at the date scale printed on the light blue rehaut.
That is the whole idea of the 29er Pointer Date, and it belongs to a family Mühle-Glashütte named after the 29er sailing dinghy, the youth class that prepares crews for the Olympic 49er. The range was introduced in 2006 as an approachable way into Glashütte watchmaking, and its recurring signature is exactly this kind of contrasting colored flange.
The dial is white, with applied indices coated in Super-LumiNova and a central seconds hand. The stainless steel case measures 42.4 mm across, 12.2 mm high and 49 mm from lug to lug, worn here on 22 mm nautical blue canvas with a steel pin buckle at 109 grams. Inside is the SW 221-1 in Version Mühle specification, with Mühle's patented woodpecker neck fine regulation, stop-seconds hacking and 41 hours of reserve, viewable through the sapphire exhibition back. Anti-reflective sapphire, screw-down crown, 10 bar.
A calendar you read the way you read the time, by hand position rather than by numeral. It rewards the person who looks twice.
Perfect for: pointer date collectors, unusual complications, blue and white dial watches.
