29er Pointer Date — White Dial / Stone Gray Canvas
Pointer dates went out of fashion because windows are cheaper. They are, however, harder to read at a glance and far less interesting to watch, which is the argument this 29er Pointer Date makes every day of the month.
Mühle-Glashütte reads the date here with a center-mounted hand that turns once every 31 days, its half-moon tip tracking a scale on the light blue inner flange. The 29er family, named after the 29er sailing dinghy that feeds the Olympic 49er class, was created in 2006 as the brand's way into Glashütte watchmaking, and the colored flange is its recurring visual mark.
The white dial keeps its applied indices and Super-LumiNova clean beneath that scale, with central seconds sweeping across. The stainless steel case measures 42.4 mm in diameter, 12.2 mm high and 49 mm lug to lug, mounted on 22 mm stone gray canvas with a steel pin buckle, 109 grams complete. The SW 221-1, Version Mühle automatic carries Mühle's own rotor and Glashütte finishing, with 41 hours of reserve and stop-seconds hacking.
Bright, gray and blue, with a complication you will explain to people. It wears easily on almost any wrist at 49 mm lug to lug.
Perfect for: white dial automatic seekers, gray canvas strap fans, understated date complications.
