29er Day/Date — Titanium-Gray Dial / Stone Gray Canvas
Gray on gray is a difficult thing to make interesting. Mühle-Glashütte manages it on the 29er Day/Date by setting a titanium-gray dial inside a sand-metallic rehaut and then hanging the whole thing on stone gray canvas.
The 29er family arrived in 2006, named after the 29er sailing dinghy that carries young sailors toward the Olympic 49er class. Mühle designed the range as its introduction to Glashütte watchmaking, and every model shares a screw-down crown, anti-reflective sapphire, an exhibition caseback and 10 bar of pressure resistance.
This one adds a weekday to the date and stacks both at three o'clock, keeping the rest of the dial clear for applied indices coated in Super-LumiNova. Central seconds sweep across them. The stainless steel case measures 42.4 mm wide by 12.2 mm tall, 49 mm lug to lug, with 22 mm stone gray canvas on a steel pin buckle for a total of 109 grams. The automatic movement is a Swiss caliber in Version Mühle specification, meaning Mühle's own rotor, Glashütte finishing and 41 hours of reserve.
Tonal, calm and genuinely useful on a Monday morning. It disappears into an outfit rather than dictating one.
Perfect for: tonal gray watch buyers, day-date automatic seekers, everyday German watches.
