29er Chronograph — Black Dial / Black Pigskin
Sixty-two hours is the number that matters here. Take this 29er Chronograph off on Friday evening and it is still running, still accurate, when you pick it up on Sunday night.
That reserve comes from the MU 9413, the caliber Mühle-Glashütte designed for its chronographs, built on a Swiss base and extensively reworked, assembled and regulated in Glashütte. The 29er family it powers was launched in 2006 and named after the 29er sailing dinghy, the youth class that leads to the Olympic 49er. Mühle regulates its movements to run between zero and eight seconds fast per day and states that tolerance openly, which is more than most brands do.
This is the all-dark configuration: a black dial with applied indices and Super-LumiNova, small seconds and a date at four o'clock, on a black pigskin strap with a steel pin buckle. The stainless steel case measures 42.4 mm across, 14.2 mm high and 49 mm lug to lug, weighing 122 grams complete. Anti-reflective sapphire, a sapphire exhibition back over the three-quarter plate, screw-down crown, 10 bar.
Sober, dark and mechanically candid. A chronograph for someone who dislikes resetting watches.
Perfect for: all-black chronograph seekers, long power reserve automatics, leather strap chronographs.
