29er Chronograph — Black Dial / Coffee Brown Canvas
Coffee brown against black is an older pairing than it looks. The canvas warms up a dial that would otherwise read as purely functional, and it gives this 29er Chronograph a slightly vintage temperature.
Mühle-Glashütte developed the 29er range in 2006, borrowing the name from the 29er sailing dinghy that prepares young sailors for the Olympic 49er class. The chronograph is the family's most serious build: the MU 9413 caliber is Mühle's own, constructed on a Swiss base and extensively reworked, assembled, finished and regulated in Glashütte, with the traditional three-quarter plate and 62 hours of autonomy.
The black dial carries applied indices and Super-LumiNova, small seconds, and the date at four o'clock, with a chronograph scale on the inner flange divided down to one eighth of a second. The steel case is 42.4 mm wide, 14.2 mm tall and 49 mm from lug to lug, on 22 mm coffee brown canvas with a steel pin buckle. Anti-reflective sapphire, exhibition caseback, screw-down crown and 10 bar.
A chronograph with some warmth in it, and one that stays comfortable on canvas in hot weather.
Perfect for: black dial with brown strap pairings, vintage-leaning chronograph buyers, canvas strap wearers.
