29er Big — Black Dial / Stone Gray Canvas

Grey canvas, black dial, steel case: three tones and no color at all. This is the 29er Big for people who find most sports watches too talkative. Mühle-Glashütte's own motto, that luxury follows function, fits it exactly.

The 29er is named after a sailing dinghy, the youth class that leads to the Olympic 49er, and has been Mühle's introduction to Glashütte watchmaking since 2006. The Big is the 42.4 mm interpretation, identical to the smaller model in layout and in the standard it is held to.

The dial is black with applied luminous indices and a date at 3 o'clock; the stone grey canvas strap is 22 mm wide on quick-release spring bars. The case stands 11.3 mm tall with sapphire above and below, a screw-down crown and 10 bar of water resistance. The automatic SW 200-1, Version Mühle runs 41 hours, and Mühle fits it with its own rotor, which winds in both directions and is secured by gold-colored rivets you can see through the caseback.

Monochrome, robust, and about as low-key as a 42 mm watch gets.
