29er Big — South Sea Blue Dial / Coffee Brown Canvas
Two blues, one dial: a deep South Sea blue face ringed by a petrol rehaut, the darker blue-green flange the 29er Big uses to add depth without adding decoration. Mühle-Glashütte pairs it here with coffee brown canvas, which is the unexpected choice and the better one.
The 29er is named after a boat rather than a measurement. The dinghy of that name is the youth class that leads crews to the Olympic 49er, and Mühle designed the watch in 2006 as an introduction to Glashütte watchmaking. Nautical colors have been part of the line from the beginning.
The case is stainless steel, 42.4 mm wide, 11.3 mm deep and 49 mm across the lugs, with anti-reflective sapphire and a display caseback. Applied indices and hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, and the date sits at 3 o'clock. The 22 mm brown canvas strap uses quick-release spring bars. The automatic SW 200-1, Version Mühle carries 41 hours, stop-seconds and 10 bar.
The richest dial in the family, dressed down by the strap it arrives on.
Perfect for: blue dial automatic watches, brown strap contrast pairings, nautical style watches.
