Uruga 31 Bracelet Model [UG02-M01NIB-SSB]

Ice blue on steel is the most literal reading of what the URUGA 31 is about. The dial pattern is water, and this is the color of it.

MINASE took the design from the Minase River, which flows through the valleys of Akita where the company builds its watches, and describes the dial as an image of glittering, languid water. Laid out in horizontal gradated bands and set behind a crystal with a slight vertical curvature, the pale blue changes tone continuously as the wrist moves.

The case is held together at four points by voluminously cut, individually faceted clasps, a clamping structure borrowed from jewelry rather than from watchmaking. Each mirrored plane is polished by hand rather than buffed on a soft wheel, which is why the reflections stay undistorted and the ridges between planes stay sharp.

Steel case and bracelet, 31 mm wide, 39 mm long and 9.9 mm thick. The self-winding KT8001 with date is built on a Swiss ETA 2671 and Sellita SW100 base and finished by MINASE. Rated 5 atm, so splashes and rain only.
