Unomat – black/orange

Orange on black is a legibility decision before it is a styling one. On the MeisterSinger Unomat it marks out the five-minute scale that a single-hand watch depends on, which matters more when the watch is built for use outdoors.

Unomat is the brand's sports and tool model, the most robust it has made, and a Red Dot Design Award winner. Its distinguishing feature is hidden: a soft-iron inner case and iron dial that together form an antimagnetic enclosure rated to 24,000 A/m. Around that sit a screw-down crown with guards, a solid screw-down caseback and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, with 30 bar water resistance on this reference. One hand shows the time, a round aperture shows the date, and the markings glow in the dark.

The black dial with orange accents comes on a matching orange strap with 20 mm lugs, in a 43 mm stainless steel case measuring 50.6 mm lug to lug. The movement is a Sellita SW400 automatic with 26 jewels, beating at 4 Hz for 38 hours.
