Teutonia IV BlueMoon — Midnight Blue Dial / Black Calf Leather
A blue moon is a second full moon inside a single calendar month. Mühle-Glashütte named the Teutonia IV BlueMoon after it, then moved the moon almost to the middle of the dial.
This was the second Teutonia to carry a moon phase, and it rethinks the display rather than repeating it. Shifting the moon disc toward the dial center allowed the disc itself to grow to 6 mm, shown through a large arc-shaped aperture across the lower half of the midnight blue dial, over a night sky scattered with tiny stars. Both the moon phase and the date are quick-set.
Teutonia IV is distinguished from the II by its beveled bezel and finely grained dial, with a vertical satin finish on the case middle and polished volute-shaped lugs. At 39.0 mm wide and 11.8 mm high this is the slimmest of the family, on black calfskin with a steel folding clasp. Bright nickel-plated applied indices and hands, date at 3 o'clock. SW 288-1, Version Mühle automatic, 41 hours, exhibition caseback, anti-reflective sapphire, 10 bar.
Presented as a unisex size and genuinely one: a moon phase that neither hides nor shouts.
Perfect for: moon phase watch buyers, midnight blue dial automatics, 39 mm unisex watch shoppers.
