Terrasport II — Black Dial / Milanese Bracelet
Milanese mesh under a black instrument dial is an unexpected pairing, and it works because the Terrasport II is only 10 mm tall to begin with.
Mühle-Glashütte is unusually direct about what drives it: the caliber is named on the spec sheet as the SW 200-1, Version Mühle, a Swiss Sellita base that Mühle then fits with its own patented woodpecker neck fine regulation, finishes to Glashütte standards and regulates to a stated tolerance of 0 to a maximum of plus eight seconds a day. Forty-one hours of reserve, stop-seconds for setting against a time signal, and an exhibition caseback so you can see the result.
The dial follows the layout Glashütte established for pilot's watches in the late 1930s, which is a heritage of the town rather than of the company: Arabic 1 through 11, luminous rectangular five-minute batons, and a luminous triangle with a dot each side standing in for the 12. Here it is black, read by losange hands and a red central seconds hand, with the date at 3 o'clock. The brushed steel case is 40.0 mm across, 48.2 mm lug to lug, on a 190 mm silver Milanese mesh bracelet with a folding clasp. Anti-reflective sapphire, screw-down crown, 10 bar.
Mesh softens a functional dial without diluting it. A quietly elegant way to wear the Terrasport II.
Perfect for: Milanese mesh bracelet buyers, slim automatic watches for dress and daily wear, legible black dial watches.
