Terrasport II — Black Dial / Steel Bracelet
Ten millimetres tall on a 40 mm case. The Terrasport II is one of the few instrument-styled watches that genuinely slips under a shirt cuff.
Mühle-Glashütte builds it around a dial that owes its layout to the pilot's watches made in Glashütte from the late 1930s, a tradition of the town rather than of the firm, which spent its early history producing precision measuring instruments. The face carries Arabic numerals 1 through 11, luminous five-minute batons, and a luminous triangle flanked by two dots in place of the 12. Losange hands, tapering to a point and widest at mid-length, complete a dial with nothing on it that is not doing a job.
This reference matches the black dial to a brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet, 175 mm long with a folding clasp, at 138 grams complete. The case is brushed steel, 40.0 mm across with a 48.2 mm lug-to-lug, fitted with anti-reflective sapphire and a screw-down crown and rated to 10 bar. Date at 3 o'clock, red central seconds hand, exhibition caseback showing the SW 200-1, Version Mühle automatic, a Sellita base Mühle names openly and then fits with its patented woodpecker neck regulation. 41 hours.
The bracelet Terrasport II is the one to choose if it is going to be the only watch in the rotation.
Perfect for: steel bracelet everyday watches, slim 40 mm automatics, black dial instrument watch buyers.
