TACHYMETER 2.0 dark blue silver / Modena 20 dark brown

Dark blue and dark brown is an old pairing from tailoring, and it survives the jump to a 44 mm chronograph. The Sternglas TACHYMETER 2.0 in dark blue on dark brown Modena leather is the warmest configuration in the line.

The TACHYMETER 2.0 is the racing chronograph in the Sternglas range, larger and busier than anything else the Hamburg brand makes. Its dial is laid out tri-compax in the sector style, with a 24-hour register at three, running seconds and the date at six, and a 60-minute counter at nine. The tachymeter scale converts a timed distance into an average speed, and the caseback is engraved with a rally motif.

The case is polished and brushed 316L stainless steel with an aluminum bezel insert, water resistant to 10 bar, meaning 100 meters, under a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both faces. Inside sits a Seiko/TMI VK63 meca-quartz movement: quartz timekeeping married to a mechanically driven chronograph, which is what produces the sweeping chrono hand and the instant reset. Lug width is 20 mm.
