TACHYMETER 2.0 dark blue silver / Field 20 signal yellow
Signal yellow nylon against a dark blue dial is a motorsport combination, and it is not an accident. The Sternglas TACHYMETER 2.0 is the brand's racing chronograph, and this is the version that looks least interested in pretending otherwise.
The tachymeter scale that gives the watch its name converts elapsed time into average speed: start the chronograph at the beginning of a measured distance, stop it at the end, and read the answer off the scale. Sternglas builds the TACHYMETER 2.0 around that idea with a tri-compax sector dial, a 24-hour register at three, running seconds and the date at six, a 60-minute counter at nine, and a rally motif engraved into the caseback.
The 44 mm case is polished and brushed 316L stainless steel with an aluminum bezel insert, rated to 10 bar, or 100 meters, under a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both faces. The movement is a Seiko/TMI VK63 meca-quartz: quartz timekeeping paired with a mechanically driven chronograph, so the seconds hand sweeps and the reset snaps back. The 20 mm Field strap is thin nylon.
The largest watch Sternglas makes, worn at its most casual.
Perfect for: racing chronograph watches, 44 mm sports watches, bright nylon strap summer wear.
