Black dial, steel bracelet, 44 mm of case. The Sternglas TACHYMETER 2.0 in this form is the most complete expression of the design, because the beads-of-rice bracelet is integrated into the case rather than fitted to it.

Sternglas is better known for spare, Bauhaus-inspired dials, which makes the TACHYMETER 2.0 the outlier in its own catalog. The dial is tri-compax and sector-styled, with a 24-hour register at three, running seconds and the date at six, and a 60-minute counter at nine, and the caseback carries a rally motif engraving. The tachymeter scale reads average speed straight off a timed run over a known distance.

The case is 316L stainless steel, polished and brushed, with an aluminum bezel insert and 10 bar of water resistance, which is 100 meters. Above it sits a double-domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating. The movement is a Seiko/TMI VK63 meca-quartz, combining quartz timekeeping with a mechanically driven chronograph, so you get a sweeping chrono hand and a clean snap back to zero. Lug width is 20 mm.

Substantial, legible and entirely steel. It rewards a wrist with room to spare.
