Sportivo Big Date — Deep Blue Dial / Steel Bracelet

A big date done properly uses two elements, not one printed disc. In the Sportivo Big Date, Mühle-Glashütte's own module uses a units ring and a tens star.

That module is the model's headline, and it is the one component in the range Mühle can claim outright as in-house: the MU9424-GD is the first Mühle movement to feature an internally developed big date, and the module is designed to be flexibly positioned. Here it sits at 6 o'clock, printing the date across two apertures at a size no single-disc mechanism can reach. The Sportivo family arrived in 2024 as Mühle's newest and most versatile line, built for outdoor use and office wear alike.

This is the deep blue dial on a matte silver stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp, 177 mm long, the heaviest and most finished configuration at 195 grams. The 42.5 mm steel case is 12.5 mm tall with a 50.2 mm lug-to-lug, and the bidirectional rotating bezel takes a black ceramic inlay that frames the blue face cleanly. Double anti-reflective sapphire, screw-down crown, exhibition caseback, 30 bar. Hour markers and hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, and the automatic runs 41 hours.

Deep blue and black ceramic is a restrained combination for a watch with such a loud date.
