Green is the color of the country this watch comes from. The workshop that makes the SEVEN WINDOWS sits in Ugo-machi, in Akita, among conifer forests and rivers about 600 km north of Tokyo.

MINASE grew out of Kyowa Co., Ltd., a maker of precision cutting tools whose step drill for watch-case crown holes became its breakthrough product, and the brand logo is still a step-drill motif. That machining background shows in the case: a square body cut with six facets, its outer edge drawn to a sharp ridge that the brand compares to the edge of a Japanese sword, every polished plane meeting the next without rounding.

The green YUKI-HIRA dial is a traditional hammered pattern formed by electroforming rather than printing, so the relief is grown into the metal instead of applied on top of it. Under light it reads as depth and shadow more than as color. The steel case measures 37.4 by 46.5 mm and 13 mm thick including the crystal, on a MINASE bracelet built to be disassembled and refinished for as long as it is owned.

A self-winding KT7002 with date sits inside, and the watch is rated to 5 atm for everyday splashes.
