The finish is why that works. MINASE polishes by hand using Sallaz, a discipline of Swiss origin that the workshop in Akita revived and adapted: the part is held against a rotating flat plate charged with fine diamond dust, with pressure judged entirely by fingertip. Because the plate is hard and flat, the surface stays planar, so there is no distortion in the reflection and the edges between planes stay sharp. A single part can take up to 90 minutes.

The case is a six-faceted square with the crown split into two on the flank, giving seven sapphire windows, and behind the front crystal an inner case holds the movement and a three-dimensional dial with markers on a ring above it. Steel, 37.4 by 46.5 mm, 13 mm thick including the crystal, about 89 grams on leather.

The self-winding KT7002 with date runs inside, and the watch is rated 5 atm, meaning rain and splashes.
