SEVEN WINDOWS Bracelet Model [VM15-M01NGY-SSB]
Gray is the color that lets a case be the subject. On this SEVEN WINDOWS it sits somewhere between the steel around it and the shadows inside it, and the whole watch reads as one material.
MINASE comes from Kyowa Co., Ltd., a precision cutting-tool maker in Akita whose step drill for machining watch-case crown holes made its name, and whose logo the brand still carries. Cases came later, then complete watches, and the tooling instinct never left. Parts here are cut to drawing in the order of a thousandth of a millimetre so that an inner case, a curved dial and an index ring can be assembled inside an outer case without a visible compromise.
That outer case is a six-faceted square, and because the crown is split into two on its flank the total comes to seven sapphire windows. The gray dial is finely textured and three-dimensional, so light entering from the sides falls across relief rather than a flat plate.
Steel, 37.4 by 46.5 mm and 13 mm thick with the crystal, roughly 160 grams on the bracelet. Self-winding KT7002 with date, rated 5 atm.
Perfect for: gray dial watches, engineering-minded collectors, monochrome steel bracelet designs.
