Sea-Timer BlackMotion — Black Dial / Black High-Performance
Titanium carbide is one of the hardest coatings applied to a watch case. On the Sea-Timer BlackMotion it goes on by PVD and turns stainless steel a dense, even black.
Mühle-Glashütte introduced this one in 2019, and its positioning is worth being precise about. The bezel inlay is that same TiC-coated steel rather than ceramic, it turns in both directions, and Mühle makes no ISO or DIN diving claim for it. What you get instead is a 300 metre sports watch built around movement: the screw-down crown sits at 4 o'clock to free the back of the hand, and the 60-minute bezel scale times anything you like without a one-way ratchet getting in the way.
The dial is black with a matte black outer zone, a subtle two-texture arrangement that makes the applied white hour indices jump forward. Hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, the date sits at 4 o'clock, and the case measures 44.0 mm across, 12.5 mm tall, 54.0 mm lug to lug. This reference runs a black high-performance textile strap on a black PVD steel pin buckle, the lighter of the two options at 121 grams complete. The SW 200-1, Version Mühle automatic is regulated in six positions and gives 41 hours, with Mühle's woodpecker neck fine regulation visible through the exhibition caseback.
Broad-shouldered, matte and light on the wrist for its size.
Perfect for: blacked-out sports watch buyers, textile strap 300 m watches, six-position regulated automatics.
