S.A.R. Rescue-Timer — Black Dial / Steel Bracelet (M1-41-03-MB-II)
Forty-seven point six millimeters from lug to lug. That single number explains why the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer, a 42 mm case rated to 100 bar, does not overwhelm an average wrist.
The S.A.R. Rescue-Timer is Mühle-Glashütte's most serious watch, developed from March 2001 with the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service and handed to its coxswains the following February. S.A.R. is the international abbreviation for search and rescue. The soft rubber bezel, the rounded case and the heavy luminous coating were all crew requirements rather than design choices.
This is the full steel version: a 190 mm matte bracelet with a folding clasp, black dial, black rubber bezel, and a 4 mm double anti-reflective sapphire crystal with a magnifier over the date at 4 o'clock. The caseback is solid and screwed, not glazed. The SW 200-1 Version Mühle automatic runs 41 hours, fitted with Mühle's patented woodpecker neck fine regulation, which holds its adjustment under the sort of impact a rescue boat delivers.
Compact for its capability, and the most conventional-looking of the Rescue-Timers. It wears as an everyday steel sports watch.
Perfect for: steel sports watch buyers, compact lug-to-lug seekers, 100 bar water resistant watches.
