Neo Special Model – light green

Light green on a watch dial is rarer than it should be. Paired with a light red strap, it stops being safe entirely.

The Neo Special Model is not a new watch but a new face. MeisterSinger keeps the 36 mm Neo case, its domed sapphire crystal, its closed back and its Swiss automatic movement, then treats the dial to one of four pastel shades drawn from spring. The markers are printed in silver gloss over multiple layers, so they gain a slight relief that catches light from different angles, with the hour and half-hour markers in a contrasting color chosen for the dial.

Time is told the way the German brand has told it since 2001, with a single needle hand crossing double-digit numerals and a five-minute track, giving a reading that lands almost to the minute. The stainless steel case is 36 mm wide with 18 mm lugs, rated to 5 bar, powered by a Sellita SW200 automatic, and worn here on a light red velour leather strap.

A cheerful watch that still behaves itself, which is a harder combination to pull off than it sounds.
