NAOS XS Automatic gold / Classic 16 black

A 33 mm automatic is a rare thing. Most mechanical watches begin where smaller wrists stop.

Sternglas built the Naos XS for exactly that gap, and the Naos XS Automatik puts a self-winding movement inside it. The Hamburg brand has worked to Bauhaus-inspired principles since 2016: reduction on the dial, contrast between hand and background, and nothing printed that does not help you read the time.

The case measures 33 mm on 16 mm lugs in a gold finish, and it runs the Miyota 6T15 automatic at 28,800 vibrations an hour, with hand-winding and a date. A glass caseback held by six screws leaves the movement visible. The crystal is double-domed sapphire with anti-reflective coating on both faces, and the watch is rated to 5 bar. It comes on a Klassik 16 leather strap in black.

Black leather against gold is the most formal way to wear the XS, and it stays entirely legible at a size that usually forces a compromise.
