NAOS XL Edition 1905 dark green bronze / Modena 20 green

Matching the strap to the dial is a risk. It works here because the green is deep enough to read almost black until light finds it.

The Naos line is where Sternglas does its clearest work: a dial reduced to markers, hands and a date, with nothing else competing for attention. The Edition 1905 refers to the year Hamburg completed its Speicherstadt warehouse quarter, and dresses the Naos in a dark green satin dial, a brushed PVD bronze case, and bronze hands with signal-orange accents. The Wasserschloss, the moated building among the Speicherstadt canals, is engraved on the caseback.

This is the 42 mm XL case with 20 mm lugs, a quartz movement with date, sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating, and 5 bar of water resistance. The Modena leather strap in green completes the tonal run from dial to wrist, leaving the bronze case as the only break in it.

Monochrome without being gray, it suits someone who has already owned the black-strap version of something and wants the next one to be less obvious.
